Snapshots of Bali: Part I
About a month ago, TCPJ and the fake Bali in Petaling Jaya was like a million miles away from my soul. I was in Bali with a great bunch of friends (albeit the fact that there are some who almost caused a havoc, just kidding =P). Skeptical at first about Bali, I gathered all the courage I have to shrug off all my worries about what might happen there, although its kinda silly worrying about terrorists and disease, but these are some of the things that kept some people from goin abroad like Bali. But what the heck, time to get away from the haze, Malaysia and most importantly, assignments and classes.

As what I had done before, I prefer to use photos to tell my experiences and stories if I have taken enough snapshots. This is the first part of several parts which I still haven't thought of yet. The scenic and poetic shots are in this part, so feast your eyes, ladies and gentlemen...

This shot was taken on a road which cuts across a paddy field near a resort called Alila, a luxurious 5-star resort not meant for us, yet. Bali is simple yet beautiful.

A windchime swings in the cool afternoon breeze at a restaurant overlooking a vast paddy field, such calmness and tranquility are hard to find these days...So that we can reach the state of mental equilibrium. =P

An overall shot of the paddy field I mentioned in the second photo. Paddy fields are everywhere in Bali, just like palm oil and rubber trees here.

A cat walks off an offering spot to the Gods, curious at what I'm holding in my hands. Cats there are also friendlier than the ones we find here.

Kijang is everywhere in Bali, or Indonesia for that matter, since it's considered as their national car there. Cheap, durable and good quality, typically Toyota.

Dwarfed by the giants he created, a wood carver plies his trade at a wood carving center somewhere near Ubud, Bali. Balinese people are one of the friendliest people I've ever met, although I question some of their intentions sometimes, nothing insulting, just a tourist being aware of his surroundings in a foreign land. =)

Like a boat stranded on a coral reef, a kite struggles to break free in the dark morning sky from its anchor, a coconut tree.

The road less travelled, zig-zagging through barren landscape sculpted from a volcanic eruption. In the background is Kintamani, an active volcano which erupted within the last 20-40 years, I can't remember when exactly.

White herons flying above at dusk after they were disturbed from their trees by our claps, flying in large groups each time, like what those nature shows say, safety in numbers. Wonderful, beautiful puffs of feathers fluttering in the skies...

Found some little feathered friends there too, although they judge my friendly moves as a threat. Very cute though! Not fit for dinner table. =)

A beach, a bunch of boats, a boy, a kite and a windy sunny day... Sometimes, the simple joys in life is so much more seductive and sweet than the things that you ever wanted in life. Man, sometimes I wonder how I'll be when I retire one day, sitting on a beach or stuck with my kids' kids...
