Kaiser Chiefs vs SimCity

Ever heard of Ruby from Kaiser Chiefs? If no, go download it or watch the video above. Interesting video, just like I said, Kaiser Chiefs vs SimCity. Come to think of it, if only I've seen this earlier, I could've used it for my studio. Dammit..

Between Melbourne & Toolern - A Photoblog

Toolern as it is.

Toolern is cows, sheeps, horses, wind, grass, dusty dirt roads and most importantly, empty. About 35 kilometers west of Melbourne and 5 minutes southeast of Melton, Toolern is supposedly earmarked as one of the city's newest and biggest undertaking in urban expansion. Touted as a stratergic transit point for the transportation industry and rich in history, Toolern is, at the point of blogging, flat and empty farmland.

Now, why would anyone go there or even looking forward to being there? The answer to the first question has a lot to do with the studio I'm in now, which sounds reasonable enough, isn't it?

But the answer to the second question has something to do with an opportunity that feeds our desire with speed and freedom. Now, what is this opportunity, you wonder. Toolern is the site of my studio so, as a result, we used this as an excuse to rent a car (But of course!).

So Leon, Melvin.. err Jit, Peng Soon and Me went on to decide the car of our choice for our longest driving trip since arriving back this year...

Tempting...

Nah... We rented the humble 2007 Toyota Camry instead, for obvious reasons.

Yes, that's it (that garish blue is ugly, we know that). Nice, good quality car I must say. The car we got was the basic model but a car is still a car, what we want is to experience driving again after months of relying on man-power, not horse-power.

It was a day full of good car sightings, said PS. Indeed it was..

On the way to Melton, we had close encounters with a higher being...

That's a Ford GT40 I presume.

Anyway, going back to the story, Toolern was refreshing but boring, just farmlands, strong winds and a rail crossing.

Upon arriving, our usual perangai to do stupid things start to kick in.

But it was such breeze being in Toolern. Fresh winds and sunny weather. We explored the surroundings. Driving around the dusty dirt roads of the outback is rather relaxing with windows down and the right type of music.

A long and lonely road leading up to a bridge connecting Toolern and nearby Melton.

Along the dusty path we trotted on...

Soon our hungry stomach signaled us to leave, only stopping at a Safeway outlet in Melton to buy snacks for the trip back.

to be concluded....

You know what?
BOB DYLAN IS COMING TO MELBOURNE!!!

In conjunction with his 32nd album, Modern Times, Bob Dylan is back in Melbourne after his last performance years ago, part of his Never Ending Tour. Tickets will be on sale tomorrow. This is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me eversince I set my foot on Land Down Under.

He'll be performing at Rod Laver Arena on August 17th and hell yeah I'll be there, just need to have a proper financial backing from my bank back home, just kidding. Hopefully, apart from performing his songs from the new album (which is pretty interesting considering that the name 'Modern Times' is a pun of the modern era, correct me if I'm wrong), classics like from his previous albums will be played too, afterall, what is a Bob Dylan performance without showcasing all his past greatest works. I hope you won't dissapoint me Mr. Dylan.

My part of the bargain, however, is to get some kaki to go to the performance with, since there aren't that many who likes Bob Dylan or ever heard of him before. Never in a million years that I will get to seize this opportunity again, unless he somehow decides to visit Malaysia.. Very unlikely.

One thing's for sure, I will be there on the 17th August no matter what. Bob Dylan here I come!
