Its Deepa-Raya again this year and the cops are out again on their yearly stint to record down how many accidents had happened and how many people became part of the statistic. Call it Ops Sikap 1, 2, 5 or 9, i think the sikap that we need to change is not only the drivers', but the police as well. Forget about the bribes that they cheerfully look for after you broke the speed limit or ran a red light, the thing that I'm talking about here is what's inside some of these police officers, the so-called their spare tayar.
This guy's butt rivals J-Lo's rear end (I really pity his bike)
I was in downtown Kuala Lumpur the other day at the MARA building wanting to get some form for an application and was told to wait for half an hour till the office open. So, I went to an empty cafe outside (It was Ramadhan) and sat there. Then my eyes caught something which I had seen twice before that day, something large, round, white and had streaks of black all over it, and it was sitting in the middle of the road blocking the already congested traffic at Jalan Raja Laut. "What is that?" i thought and oh.. its a traffic policeman on his routine rounds to control traffic. But isnt a police officer suppose to be in a slimmer shape? So that he can actually give chase to any criminals running on foot.
It was rather amusing seeing him arranging those cones on the road and a few moments after he disappeared, a 4x4 pickup truck came and pushed those cones aside to enter the blocked road and a Kancil follows suit, like a cat giving way to its kittens. Then out of nowhere, a "good" Samaritan came and put the cones back in place, just when a car was about to enter, how humiliating for the driver. Moments later, the fattie cop came back and watch over the traffic and left after his shift was over. All these happened within twenty minutes when I was waiting outside MARA building. Something to amuse me after a sleepless night. Hours earlier, I spotted two similar police officers buying some food at Projet Mentari. How the hell are they gonna do their job well? What if these officers were chasing a criminal and all of a sudden, they had a heart-attack and died in the chase, should he be honored for his courageous act? (Yeah, for becoming too fat and died while on duty, how easy can that be, can even call him a matyr). I think they are only good for crowd contol where they can just stand there like a wall or roll around like a boulder... The long and flabby arm of the law strikes again.
